PORK BISTEK

Pork Bistek

Pork Bistek is one of the Filipinos favorite dish. Pork Bistek is a variant of Bistek Tagalog using pork loin sliced thin and marinated in soy sauce-calamansi juice mixture. Easy to cook and few basic ingredients needed. The meat is marinated in soy sauce, calamansi juice, garlic and ground pepper. Browned and stewed until meat is tender.







INGREDIENTS:

1/2 kg Pork Tenderloin, and pounded with the back of a knife





1/4 cup Soy Sauce

1 large Onions

3 cloves Garlic

1/4 teaspoon Ground Black Pepper

3 tablespoon Cooking Oil



COOKING INSTRUCTIONS: 

1 Mix the calamansi juice and soy sauce. Marinate the pork overnight  inside the refrigerator.



2 When ready, remove out the excess liquid and set aside.

3 Heat up the oil in the pan and fry the onions for 2 minutes, it should be half-cooked and not translucent. Remove the onions, and set aside, leaving the oil in the pan.

4 Pan-fry the pork in batches, cooking it for about 2-3 minutes per side. Once they are all done, add in the marinade, water and ground pepper.

5 Let it simmer for 20 - 30 minutes or until the pork is tender. Add enough water so it won't dry out.

6 Serve with the onions and on top like garnish. Perfect with a plate of hot white rice.
